One could easily mistake Melanie Huynh’s Paris apartment for the home of an accomplished interior designer, rather than that of a family of four. Given the visual nature of her job, it’s no surprise the half-Chinese, half-French stylist has an expert eye when it comes to curating – a skill she applies to her own, oft-admired wardrobe. One of the most high-profile figures in the French fashion industry, Huynh is regularly photographed exiting Paris runway shows with Carine Roitfeld – wearing her signature uniform of head-to-toe black, leather or studs and always, always heels. Huynh says of Roitfeld: ‘She’s been my editor and mentor, and now she’s my children’s godmother. She’s an amazing woman.’
